Maple Moon Farm of Shelby
Please join us is acknowledging Maple Moon’s October Customer of the Month, Sarah Aebig.  It is such an honor when another farmer get their food from us.  Sarah gets vegetables from us regularly, often choosing to get whatever is left at the end of market.  We are so grateful for her support, and we love that our exchanges are simply trading products from our farms.  These are the relationships that build healthy communities.  Thank you, Sarah and family!
This week we are bringing:
BABY GINGER
BABY TURMERIC
Ginger and turmeric are tropical plants and it is a real treat to have them locally grown.  Unlike commercially grown ginger, this is the tender and delicate first year growth. No need for peeling, and no stringy flesh.  Most ginger sold in the US is imported from China and Peru (leaving a huge carbon footprint), and conventionally grown, often with questionable growing practices.  Like a lot of produce, ginger and turmeric are irradiated and fumigated before entering the US.  We are excited to offer locally grown, certified organic ginger and turmeric.

Michigan’s Finest Mushrooms of Ferrysburg
When most people think of mushrooms they think of basic whites and portobello. I want to change that mindset, and introduce you to a more medicinal and culinary way to approach a new food source.
My goal is to master growing different strains and coordinating yields for a variety of tasty offerings each week. I want to grow for people who love their kitchens and want to try new products with a high priority of quality local food.
This week I will have:
Oyster mushrooms – fresh
Shitake – dried
Maitake (hen of the woods) – fresh/dried
Honey mushrooms (stumpers) – fresh
