Sweetwater Verified Goods in other places

The Pasturage of Montague
Hi Folks!  Winter is truly here and I am truly happy about it.  For us, snow means so many good things: it interrupts the parasite cycle for the animals, it’s not muddy, it gives the sheep and pigs something to investigate, it insulates the standing tall grass that we leave in the pasture creating a lovely home for field mice and other critters, it shows us the tracks of deer, coyotes, and birds that clearly know our land and traverse it regularly, and it’s easier to see them because they don’t blend in the background. Yesterday, Dan saw a bald eagle!
However, I don’t like driving in it.  I took our pigs in to the slaughterhouse and I’m thankful there was a break in the weather.  We should have pork back in stock in two weeks.
In the meantime, our current offerings are listed on our online pre-order form found at www.thepasturage.com/order where we also post prices and ingredients.
Happy Holidays!
Julie

Vendors at Sweetwater November 23rd:

The Pasturage
Hello folks! Yup, we still have turkeys. Order them here: www.thepasturage.com/order
What we don’t have, however, is lamb sausage. Our last slaughter date was scheduled for a week ago, Nov. 13. Unfortunately, they called and said they couldn’t fit them in. I scheduled this appointment in June… I don’t know, I guess they bit off more than they could chew? At any rate, this last round was for whole lamb orders and sausage. We have been moved to Dec. 23. So it will be the New Year by the time the lamb brats and breakfast links are back in stock. Keep up to date with our online pre-order form www.thepasturage.com/order where we list everything we have plus price and ingredients.
Take care,
Julie

Mannor Farm of Hesperia
We thank all our customers for their support during 2024.
We shall return to the farmers markets in the spring.
Over the next couple of weeks we will be taking a break before the new year.  Then we will start the planning process for 2025.
We have already made a few changes for 2025.
One big change is that we have decided not to renew our Certified Naturally Grown affiliation. We will continue our operation without using chemical fertilizer, herbicides, and pesticides in a natural environment as we have in the past.
We are looking at which farmers markets to attend next year and possibly offering purchases at the farm one day per week.   We also are exploring the idea of homedeliveries for a nominal fee.  We would love to hear your feedback on these issues.
We are looking at several other changes for 2025 and will be in touch as we get closer to making the decisions.
Have a great Thanksgiving.

Funny Farm of Grant
Hello, Sweetwater. Another autumn has fallen and the colors have
definitely changed. But my raised beds have been going well and there’s
some stuff to harvest for a few weeks, fingers crossed! There’s not a
lot as I had to replant and it hasn’t been 70f recently, so I will bring
what I find. Unfortunately I can’t offer preorders as I have a need to
share what I harvest. There should be another harvest next week and
maybe one more, depending on how much growth we get. I did find some
Swiss chard that looks really good and will bring what I have of that also.
Jim has been busy in the woodshop too. If you’ve started thinking
holiday season and gifts, he’s able to make cutting boards or other
things if you’re interested.
Shallots
Onions, yellow
Garlic
Fennel fronds
Low sugar jelly in many flavors, all from our farm. On sale this week 3
jars of your choice for $15
Blackberry, Elderberry/blackberry, Apple, Kiwi, Kiwi/crab apple, Wild
grape, Mixed Wildberry, Elderberry and
Blueberry from a source that I’ve used for 20+ years.
Thanks again!
Barb

The Pasturage
Hello happy hungry hellions!  Please note, the Muskegon Farmers market is consolidating vendors for the month of November so we will be in stall #60 (where Tortoise& Hare are over the summer) instead of our usual stall #148.
We are overjoyed to tell you that all of our chicken and turkey is back in stock!!  Use our online pre-order form https://thepasturage.com/order/ to see all that we have.  Best of all, our whole turkey weights are listed on there so you can get exactly the size turkey you want for your holiday table.  Our lamb will be back in stock this coming Saturday, Nov.9!  It will probably not be listed on our online order from until Friday afternoon or evening, so keep checking back.
Take care,
Julie

Yaaaay!! Rain!!! I hope the tomatoes survive! They are not rain lovers
this late in the season. I will bring what I have, no promises this
week. Everything else is doing well. The spinach is popping up, I hope
the rain doesn’t affect it badly. We are building a shade cover for the
beds, let’s hope it helps for the fall rain.
I hope to have kiwis and apples again this fall. We don’t raise a lot of
these and they can be hit or miss as we don’t spray the apples at all
and the bugs do love them. It seems there is not a lot of damage this
year from them so we may be good. The kiwis don’t seem to have any
problems like that, but they are tasty! We keep checking them for
ripeness. Fingers crossed!

Funny Farm of Grant
Hello Sweetwater fans! Between the groundhog that keeps
getting in to the weird weather that killed all the Napa cabbage,
there’s no way to predict what will be available for the remainder of
the season. Fortunately it looks like the winter squash is doing well so
far. Most of the “summer” stuff is about done here. We will
probably dig the rest of the potatoes this week and then that’s probably
all for the year. The peppers are finally turning color so that’s good
news. So here’s what I figure will be ready this week. If you’d like to
reserve something, please text me at 734 945 0720 and I will let you
know. Thank you so much for all your support this summer!
Potatoes, Red and white
Cabbage, big ones and small ones
Kohlrabi, softball sized
Peppers, green by orders only, red ones as they ripen
Blackberries, slowing down, limited availability
Scallions or green onions
Shallots
Onions, white, red and yellow
Garlic
Tomatoes, asst cherry, orange and red, and big ones of all sizes
Low sugar jelly in many flavors, all from our farm. Blackberry,
Elderberry/blackberry, Apple, Kiwi, Kiwi/crabapple, Wild grape, and
Blueberry from a source that I’ve used for 20+ years.
Thanks again!
Barb

This week we are offering:
Uzbek Turban : small but mighty! This early-maturing variety packs an incredible punch, so a little goes a long way! Adds a real garlicky kick to any dish. Not for long-term storage.
Music :the workhorse Porcelain garlic with large cloves and classic flavor… perfect for roasting! This variety will keep for months with proper storage. More varieties will be available in the future!
If you want to preorder (not necessary) email me at carolyn.a.harper@gmail.com
