Monday Market Preorder Newsletter
-Pre-Orders, Pre-Orders, Pre-Orders. A reminder about the value of the pre-order: 1. It’s SO important to help our farmers keep their costs down right now, and 2. It helps you get the products you need!
Even though we all enjoy hanging out at the farmers markets in the summer, please remember our farmers, bakers & food medicine makers are all working hard in this heat. Taking the time & effort to put in a preorder helps them tremendously!
Deadlines to remember: Laughing Tree Bakery needs your orders by Tuesday 6pm. Dark Waters Coffee Roasters are trying out a week of shipping orders instead of bringing them to market, and their deadline is Wednesday noon.
Everyone else is accepting preorders all week up until Friday, so give them a look and please take the time to order!
Today’s Soapbox Special: For those of you who have been in the good food movement for awhile, this conversation between an organic farmer/founder of REAL ORGANIC PROJECT & founder of Cornucopia & ORGANIC EYE, about the current state of certified organic and attempts to rescue it from BIG AG/ORG will have you nodding in agreement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sr3KrIrpyIk&t=4232s
See you Saturday at the Market!
Vendors Attending Saturday August 6th:
Blackbird Farm of Coopersville
This week at market, we are again offering our pre-selected, pre-packed bags of fresh vegetables. These bags are something akin to our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares. We assemble bags of our highest quality veggies based on whatever is fresh and in season for that week. In the bag, we aim to have some combination and quantity of at least six different vegetables with a combined value around $20. We also include a brief note from Farmer Greg and a farm-tested recipe. Each bag costs $15.
This week’s bag will likely contain a combination of some of the following: kale, chard, head lettuce, mini cabbage, green peppers, cucumbers, summer squash, zucchini, parsley, sweet onions, and fresh garlic. Again, each bag will cost $15.
To order your Blackbird Farms Veggie Bag, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
We also plan to have many items for walk-up sales—watch for more information in Friday’s newsletter.
Thanks so much! We’re looking forward to seeing friends old and new this Saturday!

The Woven Farmstead of Whitehall
Hello! The sweet summer crops are beginning to burst from the field! While most of this weeks harvest of sweet summer favorites will be going to CSA members, keep an eye out for some extras on the market table! It has been a big week of flipping beds and planting new successions of crops, so the market table will be a bit slim this week. This week I will have the following available for preorders along with a variety of items for walk up purchases!
Napa Cabbage – $3/head
Zucchini/ Summer Squash – $3/quart
Lunchbox peppers – $4/quart
Green tomatoes – $1 each
Hakurei Turnips – $3/bunch
Kohlrabi – $3/bunch
Edible Flower Confetti – $4/clamshell
Basil – $3/bunch
Fresh garlic – $5/pint
**blueberries – I unfortunately cannot keep up with the blueberry orders! If you have previously ordered and not yet received your blueberries, I will have them for you this week. I will also (hopefully) have some available for walk up purchases, but will not be taking blueberry orders this week!
To order, please email inquire@
Cash, cards, and checks are accepted.
Please make checks out to : The Woven Trifecta or Samantha Otto
Have a lovely week + Cheers to good growing!!
The Pasturage LLC of Montague
It’s tomato season! And we have plenty of bacon. You know what that means!! BLT’s! We only bring a couple of pounds of bacon, so the best way to ensure good summer eating is to pre-order. Also, we are sold out of nitrate-free ham slices. We still have plenty of regular ham slices for cold ham-barley-basil salad. It’s delicious on those summer evenings.
The product price list is here:

Pine Row Farm of Rothbury
The challenges this growing season have included the long dry spell we had, constant fox pressure, and exhaustion from family, work, and farm responsibilities. This past week we faced a new issue; we were upset to receive a call that someone was scammed by people using our farm name and address. Please beware! They did not use our personal names, and because we only accept cash/checks for payment the scam didn’t succeed. Also because most, if not all our customers follow the KNOW YOUR FARMER credo!
We will accept orders until 5pm on Friday. If you miss the deadline or prefer to shop in person, I bring a selection of what’s available every Saturday. I will plan to get totals emailed out by 9:30pm. If you don’t get a response from me, please contact me. We accept cash or check payable to Pine Row Farm.
