NEW FARM!
The Mannor Farm of Hesperia
Our little farm is located on 25 acres in Oceana County southwest of Hesperia in the Manistee National Forest. We are bordered on three sides by forest and a small farm to the north. We are 3 miles from the White River and Pines Point CampGround. We originally come from very different backgrounds. Dan was raised on a small farm in Oceana County, Michigan while Linda was raised in Staten Island, New York. We have had several small farms over the past 45 years and have raised beef cattle, sheep, and hay. We have always had a garden and tried to maintain a self-sufficient lifestyle. We have always tried to grow our livestock and food as naturally as possible. In 2012, we started raising squash and garlic on Dan’s parents’ old farm that was sold to the local supermarket.  In 2017, we purchased our current place and since it had not been farmed in over 40 years, decided to manage it naturally in a sustainable manner. We are Certified Naturally Grown and use no chemical fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides (we meet or exceed all USDA Organic standards).  We currently raise a variety of vegetables including garlic, onions, peppers, eggplant, chinese (Napa) cabbage, squash, kohlrabi, and beans.  We also raise field corn and Indian corn.  Dan is a retired accountant and Linda is a retired nurse. For more info: https://certified.naturallygrown.org/producers/6190
