Sweetwater Holiday Market Week #1!

This Saturday you will find more locally grown, crafted, cooked, sewn and baked products for giving to your loved ones this Christmas than anywhere else in West Michigan!

Not to mention some darn good organically grown greens, garlic and more!

At this week’s market:

Maple Moon Farm of Shelby

Our gardens are all put to bed for the winter, but we still have lots of storage crops and the hoophouse is full.

From the hoophouse: Baby Beets! Sweet tender beets with beautiful greens.  Turnips-a spicy red with a traditional turnip flavor and our white sweet mild salad turnips, both with greens.  Salad turnips are available without greens, too.  Kale, Swiss Chard, Spinach, Lettuce, and Arugula.  Email bulk greens orders to maplemoonfarm@gmail.com.

In storage-winter squash, pie pumpkins, onions, potatoes, garlic, and carrots.

Back again! We will also have our Jones Family Doughnuts!  Original (a fry cake style doughnut rolled in cinnamon and sugar) and Pumpkin Spice (made with our own pumpkin).  Buy them individually, by the half dozen, or the holes by the dozen!  A tasty treat you can feel good about knowing they are made with local and organic ingredients.

We are taking pre-orders on half dozen (of a single variety) $7.00. Please email by 6pm Friday.  They are baked fresh early Saturday morning.

Our steers are on lush rotational pastures from May to November.  They get all our quality hay they can eat, plus a little home-grown and ground- on-the-farm grain mostly in winter. Feeding cows small amounts of good grains are like humans eating small portions of dessert.  It’s ok for them as long as grass and legumes are their main diet.  The steers are hung to age and processed by Ebel’s Meats in Falmouth, a family-run USDA operation.

ORGANIC OLIVE OIL from Palestine! 500 ML Bottles.  Organic, Extra Virgin and Cold Pressed.  This oil is imported by Higher Grounds Coffee.
