Shady Side Farm will be at the market this Saturday, March 26. I welcome pre-orders by email before Friday at 5 pm. I will respond to every email—if you don’t hear back from me, follow up. If you would like me to send an invoice ahead of time to pay by credit card, let me know. Otherwise I will assume you will pay at the market with cash/check. I will take a few extra beans and a little bit of flour/ground corn, but your best bet in getting what you want is to pre-order.
Certified organic heirloom dry beans available in 1# bags, $10 each:
· Amethyst – Creamy texture, mild flavor
· Arikara Yellow – Intense flavor, hold shape well, baked beans, soups
· Dapple Grey – Hold shape well, meaty texture, deep flavor, great for soup
· Hutterite Soup – Comfort food, cook fast, creamy soup, baby food
· Jacob’s Cattle – Big & meaty, taste like potatoes, traditional baked beans, chili
· Medley – Random mixture of our beans, good for soup
· Painted Lady – Slightly sweet bean, smooth, creamy texture, good all-purpose bean
· Rouge et Noir Cowpeas – earth flavor, holds shape well, all purpose bean/pea
· Spanish Tolosana – Rich & creamy, hold shape well, good for chili, bean salads

· Black Turtle – Common black bean, great in Mexican dishes
· Pinto – Earthy flavor, great in Mexican cooking, fall apart under long cooking

Berries can be ground for flour, added to soups like barley, or soaked and cooked like rice for a hearty, nutty whole grain pilaf or breakfast cereal.

New! We have spicy breakfast links in lamb. They are similar to chorizo, with a little more heat. I would say it’s like a medium salsa kind of heat. Delicious! Speaking of lamb sausage, the lamb kielbasa has no sugar or dextrose and it is probably my favorite sausage that we offer. If you’re looking for a sugar free pork sausage, we will have polish sausage in perhaps by this Saturday, the 26th. If not then, look for it April 2. Enjoy!

I am excited to welcome spring, and all that comes with it! Seedlings are growing, and I will soon have more than microgreens on my market table!
As the farm expands, I am excited to have more varieties on my table, as well as larger quantities to share!
This week, I have a the following microgreens available:
Jazzy Mix – This is a colorful mix with a kick! A nice blend of mild greens with a kick of radish. These are a versatile micro that will give your meal some jazzy summer vibes on these chilly days!
Watercress Micros – This is a tender microgreen with a refreshing peppery taste.
Asian Green Micro Mix –  This mix consists of tender asian greens with a hint of spicy mustard greens.
Mellow Mix – This is a mix of salad greens + brassica micros that freshens up any meal with that delicious fresh green taste.
Sunflower Shoots – These are a crunchy microgreen with a nutty flavor – Think sunflower seeds in leaf form!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR How to Pre-Order
1. Look over the list. Each vendor has a unique deadline for when they need to receive your pre-order depending on their product. Send your pre-order by email to each vendor you want to order from, within their required deadlines.
2. Vendors will respond back by no later than Friday before market day with an order confirmation and an invoice that in most cases will allow you to pre-pay for your order. If a vendor is not set up to take payment online they will accept checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope on market day pickup.
