Sweetwater Friday Update for Saturday January 8th Farmers Market

Sweetwater Local Foods Market

Saturday, January 8th, 2021
10:00am to 11:00am
Mercy Health Lakes Village
6401 Harvey St. at US31/Pontaluna Rd.
Friday Update News!Winter finally got real, yes? The worst of the winter storm looks to be passing through and done by mid-Friday. The market parking lot will be plowed out well before our market Saturday, and with the weather forecast for higher temps and a partly sunny day, we should be in line for a good market. We will be on hand to help you pick up your orders quickly and safely.

Given the cold weather you are encouraged to put in preorders as walk up sales are going to be limited. Most of the vendors below will be accepting preorders until Friday afternoon, so there’s still time!

If you would like to remain in your cars feel free to pull up along the back of any vendor you have orders with; just be cautious. Thanks, and we’ll look forward to seeing you at the market!

The Pasturage LLC of Montague
Obviously, now that it is January, we need to prepare for grilling season. Fresh ham is the way to go, according to some “South Carolina pit masters.” Lucky for you, travel to South Carolina is not necessary to find this rare cut. These folks salt the ham, smoke it, bake it, cube it, stack it on a sandwich and smother it with sauce. Check out the delectable recipe here: https://www.splendidtable.org/story/2017/06/06/south-carolina-smoked-fresh-ham
For the more traditional grillers out there, we will have an assortment of sausages returning at the end of January.
