Table Talk #2

Create Jobs and Stop Pollution: Sign the petition for 25 by 25!!

Want to help Michigan create thousands of jobs that can’t be outsourced and spark over $10 billion in new investments? Then make sure Michiganders have a chance to vote for the Michigan Energy Michigan Jobs initiative by signing the petition this Saturday at the market. or by collecting petition signatures in your community! Sign up to collect ballot initiative signatures by clicking here!

If this measure is voted into law, by 2025 electric providers will be getting 25% of our power from clean, renewable sources (25×25)!!

Table Talk #3- 12:00 Noon Only  “Connect the Dots on Climate!”

Darlene DeHudy, local environmental activist, is asking us to join in a group photo at 12:00 Noon in the market, to be posted at 350.0rg as part of efforts to  “Connect the Dots” of climate change and farmer’s crops.  With the huge losses in our Michigan tart cherry and apple crops we all know that this Spring’s unprecedented temperature fluctuations are proof enough that the global climate has definitely had local impacts here!  Help put the issue in the media where politicians can take notice and help us stop carbon emissions at all levels.  Bring signs such as:  “CO2 matters”  “Plant a garden” etc, and let’s tell the world we care about our climate! Free reusable bags will be handed out to ALL participants.  THANK YOU!

We invite local organizations as well as small locally-based businesses with a food, health and/ or environment based interest to come and tell you who they are and what they are doing in our community! If you or someone you know would like to come be a part of Table Talk please contact market manager at 231 292-1152 or email at dijaan1@charter.net
