Originally brought to Montana by a Swedish family, the Yellow Indian Woman Bean is a rare heirloom bean that is now found in Native American communities in Montana. The Yellow Indian Woman is a small, yellowish-gold bean that, when cooked, is creamy and resembles the flavor of Pinto and Black beans. The Yellow Indian Woman is ideal for slow cooked dishes, as is holds its shape while cooking. We do not know of another Farmer’s Market like Sweetwater in the state — one focused on organically produced, local products. The mission of the Friends of the Market will be to promote growth and sustainability. We will be rolling out the details of the program in the next several weeks. Those who wish to participate will be asked to help by donating time, talent and/or financial support. Whether you have been involved in the past or are new to the market we would love to have you join us. Tomme is back! As well as our Dutch Kase cheese. Similar to our Tomme de Fremont, it is a lower fat aged cheese. We’ll also have our regular line of Feta, fresh Chevre and flavored Chevres, along with some of our maple syrup and this week we’ll bring some of our neighbors free-range, GMO feed free eggs.
