The Pasturage of Montague
I am entering the digital age.  This impacts you in two ways: first, an improved method to place an order (coming next week) and second, an email newsletter (available now at this link: https://www.signupanywhere.com/signup/kpfayexr).  Nothing on my farm, besides myself (and Dan depending on the day), cares about this new era of internet.  I gushed to the sheep that we have fiber optic streaming capabilities!  We can blow data caps out of the water!  Their response?  Chaw, chaw, chaw.  Have you ever watched a sheep chew its cud?  The standing ewe paws the ground, kneels her front half down, then her back side crumples.  She tilts her head back, half-closes her eyes, and a glob of grass comes flying up her esophagus.  Her jaw circles slightly to the right or left (depending on the day? the ewe?) and she chaw, chaw, chaws, like a metronome.   People say sheep are stupid.  Maybe.  I find comfort in their immunity to digitality, and peace in their assessment of what is urgent.  The sheep do not care if you open my emails.  The emails are for me and you. If you like what you read here, the newsletters are similar.  Click https://www.signupanywhere.com/signup/kpfayexr to join. Now: regurgitate this to your friends!

Greetings, friends!
We are excited to see everyone in just a few weeks. We’ll be returning to Sweetwater on Saturday, May 6, with our herb and vegetable plants, including everything from thyme and parsley to tomatoes and cucumbers! We will send out a form for pre-orders in next weekend’s newsletter, but we will also have plants for walk-up sales. And if you won’t be getting in your garden for a few weeks yet, know that we’ll have plants available all through the month of May.
We’re also hosting a spring market day on May 20, 1:00-4:00 pm, where we’ll have our plants available for sale, along with food and artisan items from some farmer and artist friends of ours. We’ll also be hosting a perennial exchange that afternoon. All are welcome!
Finally, if you’re still looking to join a CSA for this season, we have a few spots left and would love to welcome you as a member. More information is available here: blackbirdfarms.net/community-supported-agriculture/

The Mannor Farm
The Mannor Farm will be returning in May with  Certified Naturally Grown Chicken and Rabbit as well as eggs.  Spring veggies as well as some plants, seeds, and dried pepper.
We will be offering Guinea Fowl by special order only this year.  All our meat is processed by a MDARD or USDA Inspected processor.
We are still offering prepaid Farm Cards.  These make a great gift and an easy way to introduce your friends and family members to our products.
We will be opening a market stand at the farm starting this spring.  You will announce the date later.
Meanwhile, we are busy rebuilding the old barn and maintaining (and expanding) our deer fencing as well as the normal spring planting chores.
