Production is low due to drought stress and fall’s certain approach. There’s limited amounts expected, but feel free to be on the waiting list. Since we’ve had recent questions, here’s some information on our practices. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions.
Our poultry is pastured, free of vaccines and medications, and has certified organic feed available. Organic is always non-GMO. We do lock our poultry in nightly due to predators, although we keep a livestock guardian dog right with them. We do not de-beek poultry.

We hope you and your families are all doing well. We desperately need rain on a regular basis. We’ve spent most of the summer feeding stored bales due to the drought.
Thanks,

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRE-ORDER & DRIVE THROUGH
1. Look over the list. Each vendor has a unique deadline for when they need to receive your pre-order depending on their product. Send your pre-order to each vendor you want to order from, within their required deadlines.
2. Vendors will respond back by no later than Friday before market day with an order confirmation and an invoice that in most cases will allow you to pre-pay for your order. If a vendor is not set up to take payment online they will accept checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope on market day pickup.
3. Market Day. Important! Please see the attached map with arrows indicating which way you should plan to approach the market. We have 3 sections opened now and are refining the traffic pattern plan every week!
Please plan to line up and stay in your vehicleWe will also have signs to help point you in the right direction.
4. Please note! Using a sheet of paper at least 8.5 x 11, please list all of the vendors you have orders with in black marker (or something as visible), large enough for vendors to see it clearly.  Please put your first & last name at the top of the list. Tape or hold up the list to the side window or front windshield where it will be most visible.
5. Have your trunk, or designated area of your car ready to receive your goods. As weather warms think about bringing a cooler for frozen, refrigerated items.
6. As you drive through, each vendor will bring your order to your vehicle and place it in the trunk or other designated space, and collect payment if you have not paid in advance. Again, please have checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope with your name and the name of the vendor on the outside of it.

Our poultry is pastured, free of vaccines and medications, and has certified organic feed available. Organic is always non-GMO. We do lock our poultry in nightly due to predators, although we keep a livestock guardian dog right with them. We do not de-beak poultry.

Hello Folks
My apologies, but after picking today, the nectarines picked out to a quality that is not suitable to sell
I’m so very sorry for putting you through the ordering process and expectations of getting the product
Thank You!

NOVA Bakery of Muskegon
Hello all!
My husband was informed Tuesday that one of his students at the culinary school tested positive for covid (after starting back Monday!) and although many precautions were put in place as we started the semester and we did not have to according to the CDC guidelines, we both decided to get tested today to be sure (I also teach there).
Since results will not come back for 36-48 hours, I will not come to the market this Saturday in case of a positive test.
If results are negative I will be back next week and can carry over your orders to that date if you wish.
If it’s positive, I will be out at least 14 days, but will be back when it is safe!
Thank you again for all of your support.
Any questions, feel free to email me!

Blackbird Farms of Coopersville
This week we have:
-watermelon (yellow or orange flesh): $4 each
–mini-cabbage: $2 each
–green beans: $4 per pound
–kale (meadowlark or rainbow lacinato): $4 per bunch (approximately 1 lb.)
–summer squash: $1 each
–zucchini: $1 each
We are also offering again our pre-selected, pre-packed bags of fresh vegetables. These bags are something akin to our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares. We assemble bags of our highest quality veggies based on whatever is fresh and in season for that week. In the bag, we aim to have some combination and quantity of at least six different vegetables with a combined value around $20. Each bag will cost $15. There are a limited number of bags each week.
This week’s bag will contain some combination of the following: scallions, sweet onions, green beans, a variety of red and heirloom tomatoes, saladette tomatoes, kale, basil, hot peppers, and sweet bell peppers. From these ingredients I’m imagining for you some splendid, late-summer eating—caprese salad, basil pesto, pico de gallo, and more. Again, each bag will cost $15.
To order, please e-mail us at hello.blackbirdfarms@gmail.com by noon on Friday. We will then send you an invoice via Square. Payment can also be made via cash or check (payable to Blackbird Farms).
Thanks so much! We are looking forward to seeing friends old and new this Saturday!

For best results and current inventory of our beans, corn meal and lamb cuts, please pre-order through the website between Tuesday evening and Friday at noon. Indicate in the comments/notes section that you would like to pickup at Sweetwater when we return. Email orders also work, but there are more moving parts and it’s easier for me to miss a step.

Blackbird Farms of Coopersville
Last Saturday it seemed that our new system of preselected, prepacked bags of vegetables worked well, so we are offering them again this week. These bags are something very much like our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares. We assemble bags of our highest quality veggies based on whatever is fresh and in-season for that week. In the bag, we aim to have some combination and quantity of at least six different vegetables with a combined value around $20. Each bag will cost $15. There are a limited number of bags each week.
This week’s bag will contain some combination of the following: scallions, mini-cabbage, green beans, a variety of tomatoes, summer squash, zucchini, slicing cucumbers, kale, basil, and green bell peppers. Again, each bag will cost $15.
To order your Blackbird Farms Veggie Bag, please email us at hello.blackbirdfarms@gmail.com by noon on Friday. We will then send you an invoice via Square. Payment can also be made via cash or check (payable to Blackbird Farms).
Thanks so much! We are looking forward to seeing friends old and new this Saturday!

Please plan to line up and stay in your vehicle. We will also have signs to help point you in the right direction.
