Asparagus loss: As many of you know, Northern West Michigan asparagus & fruit farmers were hit with devastating freezes over a 2 night period early this week. Our own organic asparagus farmer, Greg Mund of Mund Farms, reports that he lost not only all his early asparagus but his tart cherries and peaches as well to temps that reached down to 22 degrees for over a 5 hour period.
The good news is that the asparagus is regrowing and Greg says he will have a good amount of asparagus for the next markets.
