The last week of January! No doubt you’ve noticed the longer days amidst all the snow. Speaking of all the snow, we got this email from a customer after last weekend’s one hour frolic in the blustery weather: I just want to say— I feel we are so blessed to have the Sweetwater Market and the very special vendors who are there to cheerfully greet us on Sat, no matter the weather. They, including you, are very special! Hugs to all of you!
I can speak for all of us when I say – hugs right back! We couldn’t do this without all of you as well!
Please know your preorders are key right now, and note the deadlines: J&J Tortillas needs your preorders by January 31st for a Feb 5 delivery; Laughing Tree Breads needs your preorders every Tuesday 6pm for Saturday market. Thanks!

The Pasturage LLC of Montague
This weekend! We will have bacon, pork steak, pork shoulder roast, pork butt roast, andouille, jalapeno brat, pork tongue and more pork chops. If you are interested in a half or whole pig, we are taking orders for a March 8 slaughter date.
There’s changes afoot in the pig realm at The Pasturage. To take place beginning in July, plans are to switch to a different heritage breed, change their ration profile to exclude soy while remaining certified organic, and use the pigs to renovate 2 acres of crappy grass then moving them into the woods for the heat of summer. We are trying several different breeds to find a good fit before we invest in breeding stock. Experiment! All that is to say: feedback welcome! We are doing this for you and we want you to tell us what you like! (Or don’t like)

Our cheeses are pure, simple, and clean. We use milk made by cows on our local Amish dairy farms and follow Amish traditions and practices. Because the health and comfort of the cows are a top priority, the small dairy farms that we work with raise herds of only 4 to 20 cows, where each cow is hand-milked twice daily. In the operation of our equipment and business, we use minimal amounts of electricity, which is supplied to us by an electric cooperative.
