Friday Update Newsletter
Along with “A Call To Farms” by Woody Tasch, there is an equally compelling read to be had in “Regeneration-Ending the Climate Crisis in One Generation” by Paul Hawken. Snip: “Do you feel stressed about climate change? Stress is your brain telling you to act. Stress is a signal; it is urging you to do something. Not only do actions change your beliefs, your actions change other people’s beliefs. When honey bee scouts find a bounty of blooms and nectar, they return to the hive, where they do a symbolic waggle dance at the entrance of the hive. The dance signals the precise direction and distance to the flowering plants or trees. Once worker bees have seen the dance, they have the necessary information and fly straight to the source. It is time for humanity to create waggle dances unique to their knowledge, place, and determination. Another way to look at this time in history is this: we are being homeschooled by the planet, our teacher.”
What are you reading that is compelling you to act? Email us at sweetwaterlocalfoods@gmail.com and we’ll share it here!

Addy has updated her list for tomorrow, and remember there’s still time to get those preorders in for everyone else attending Saturday April 16th!

Happy Easter!  Hallelujah, we saw the sun this past weekend!  Keep in mind that we have leg of lamb (bone-in and boneless), lamb sirloin roast (for a small crowd), pork loin roast, fresh ham, pork shoulder roast, and pork butt roast available for your Easter celebration.  We sold out of the nitrate-free whole hams.  We also have no nitrate bacon, no nitrate jowl bacon (aka guanciale), fresh side pork, pork liver, spare ribs, no nitrate ham slices and sugar-free polish sausage now in stock.  My Mom said “Wow! That polish sausage tastes just like I remember it as a kid!” A perfect Easter accompaniment to hard-boiled eggs and coffee cake for breakfast (that’s what I grew up eating every Easter morning).  Enjoy!
