Attending this week’s market:

New Vendor!
Kandyland Dairy of Ludington
Here at KandyLand Dairy we are a 100% non-gmo farm.  We raise all of our own hay and buy all non-gmo grains.  We pasture raise all of our animals and they are given the choice in the winter to go out or stay in.
We are a Grade A farm and a Grade A Creamery and we make our famous Feta, Chevre and seasonal flavors of the Chevre, and Crottin.  We also make a drinkable Yogurt from Goats milk.  We are working with Country Dairy on buying some cow milk to make cream cheese for those that don’t like goat cheese.
We do several farmers markets a week during the summer months, and are very excited to finally be joining the Sweetwater market!  If anyone has any questions please don’t hesitate to come visit our booth and chat.  We have lots of fun photos we share at market so be sure to stop by and check out “the girls”.
Kandy and Steve are the owners and Kandy is the cheesemonger.  Elisabeth is our helper and loves our girls! She also helps us with the cheese plant, but mainly our milker so we can come to markets!
Well that sums us up and we look forward to meeting all of you at the market.

Busy week so far! Two calves and 23 lambs have been born in the past 5 days… Needless to say, Mike is making a lot of trips out to the barn to check on things.
This Saturday I will be at market with our 16 varieties of certified organic dry beans. I will also be offering aged cheese from Grassfields Farms in Coopersville. Grassfields Farm is an organic dairy farm, and their cheese is made from their organic unpasturized milk.
Please let me know if you need wool items, or any bulk (over 2#) amounts of the beans by emailing me before 5 pm on Friday at info@shadysidefarm.com.

Cultured Love of Grand Rapids
We’ll have our 5 kraut flavors for sale and sampling: All-organic ingredients, naturally fermented, and probiotic. Never cooked, raw and vegan, with no vinegar or starter culture, our Kraut is good on its own, or added to many other dishes, providing great flavor and nutrients.
· Carry Me Away – Traditional caraway kraut, as you find on a Reuben sandwich. This kraut is closest to what many grandmothers made in large crocks in their basement.
· Dillyicious – Our best-seller. Tastes like a pickle. Onion, garlic, dill, and turmeric. Our “gateway kraut” for those who say “I don’t like sauerkraut”.
· Purple Hot & Spicy – Onion, garlic and Cayenne. Hot for some, not so hot for others.
· Curryosity – We love India and Indian food. This kraut is a highly versatile addition to many dishes, or by itself.
· Root for Ginger – Our nod to Kim-chee, with similar ingredients — Carrot, radish, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Just a little heat.
We’ll also have “Good Food Good Mood” t-shirts and totes.

Bloom Ferments of Grand Rapids
I will be there with Bloom Ferments kombucha, bottles of jasmine, ginger and lavender hibiscus, and growlers of ginger. I will also have sign up sheets for my upcoming Happy Tummy Workshops, and handmade glass terrariums with succulents from Succulent Cultivations.

Pine Row Farm of Rothbury
We will have the following selection of 100% grass fed beef:  ground beef in one and one and a half pound packages, burger patties, tenderloin, ribeye, New York strip, rib steak, T-bone, porterhouse, one brisket (about 7 pounds), short ribs, sirloin sizzlers, liver, and tongue.
We will have raw honey and chicken eggs.
We keep a variety of ducks, including muskovy (pure bred), and a combination of runners, Khaki Campbells, pekins, Cayugas, and rouens.  It is prime duck egg season and we will also have a few goose eggs from our American Buff geese.
While spring is officially here, we have no calves to report yet but expect our cows to start calving around the 8th.

See you Saturday!
Pine Row
