Shady Side Farm of Holland
This Saturday I will be at market with our 16 varieties of certified organic dry beans. I will also be offering aged cheese from Grassfields Farms in Coopersville, and our handmade wool dryer balls, as a few of you have been asking for them.

On the home-front, lambing continues at Shady Side Farm. In between other things we have been experimenting with baking with bean flour, and have been fairly pleased with the results. We do not plan to start offering bean flour at the market, but if you have gluten issues and have the will and the equipment to grind your own flour, stop by my stall on Saturday and I’ll tell you everything I know. It won’t take long! 🙂

Please let me know if you need wool items, or any bulk (over 2#) amounts of the beans by emailing me before 5 pm on Friday at info@shadysidefarm.com. See you Saturday! –Lona

Funny Farm of Grant
The greenhouse is getting filled with baby plants! Onions, kales, broccoli, chard, lettuces, and cabbages are looking perky and cute. It won’t be long before we start transplanting them into the field. Some of our field crops have sprouted, garlic, spinach and peas, so far. Perhaps a month or so until asparagus is ready. About the same time as peas and spinach. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait!
Baubles by Barb will be at market until April 23rd, same for Jim’s woodworking. At that time I hope to be showing them at the Century Club in downtown Muskegon. Now is the time to think about Mom or another significant other in your life, prices will be slightly higher there.

Cultured Love of Grand Rapids
We’ll have our 5 kraut flavors for sale and sampling: All-organic ingredients, naturally fermented, and probiotic. Never cooked, raw and vegan, with no vinegar or starter culture, our Kraut is good on its own, or added to many other dishes, providing great flavor and nutrients.
· Carry Me Away – Traditional caraway kraut, as you find on a Reuben sandwich. This kraut is closest to what many grandmothers made in large crocks in their basement.
· Dillyicious – Our best-seller. Tastes like a pickle. Onion, garlic, dill, and turmeric. Our “gateway kraut” for those who say “I don’t like sauerkraut”.
· Purple Hot & Spicy – Onion, garlic and Cayenne. Hot for some, not so hot for others.
· Curryosity – We love India and Indian food. This kraut is a highly versatile addition to many dishes, or by itself.
· Root for Ginger – Our nod to Kim-chee, with similar ingredients — Carrot, radish, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Just a little heat.
We’ll also have “Good Food Good Mood” t-shirts and totes.
