Attending this week’s market:

Maple Moon Farm of Shelby
This week we are offering:
JAM-our jam is made with local organically grown fruit and sweetened with local honey (no sugar) and citrus pectin for a jam that is bursting with fruit flavor!
Our farm products are made using vegetables and herbs grown here at Maple Moon
parsley, oregano, sweet marjoram, thyme, rosemary, sage,
made with our homegrown ginger plants.  Our blend is whole plant; leaf and root.  It’s delicious and warming, the perfect tea for winter sipping.
We also offer a limited selection of maple syrup from Kasza Sugar Bush when they are not here at the market.

Shady Side Farm of Holland
I just heard that there is going to be a football game this weekend. If you are inviting friends over to watch it, you might want to have food. To our surprise, one of our chef friends did a spot on two different Grand Rapids TV stations showing how to incorporate local food into your Superbowl celebration, including Shady Side Farm beans. You can watch (and find recipes) at these two links:
I will be at market this Saturday with our beans, Grassfields Farm’s raw aged cheeses, wool dryer balls and machine-made wool socks. Let us know if you need anything special (5-25# bags of most of our beans are available by pre-order) by emailing us before 5 pm on Friday at info@shadysidefarm.com.

It’s time to start thinking about your CSA for this year. Ask about our early sign-up special at Funny Farm this year. We have adapted our CSA this year to allow you your choice of veggies for the week. We will add 10% to the amount you choose for the summer growing season. As an incentive for the early joiners, we will increase your premium by $20, so your $300 CSA will net you $350 in produce for the summer. Special offer good until Feb. 20. We offer a mid-week delivery if you have busy Saturdays during the summer. Small extra charge, but may be worth it for the convenience.
As we have downsized the garden recently, we may have to limit our membership in order to maintain our quality.
