This week at market, we are offering again our pre-selected, pre-packed bags of fresh vegetables. These bags are something akin to our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares. We assemble bags of our highest quality veggies based on whatever is fresh and in season for that week. In the bag, we aim to have some combination and quantity of at least six different vegetables with a combined value around $20. Each bag will cost $15. There are a limited number of bags each week.
This week’s bag will contain some combination of the following: a mix of tomatoes, sweet peppers, Anaheim hot peppers, baby fennel, kale, kohlrabi, broccoli, and leeks. Again, each bag will cost $15.
This week we also will have a variety of vegetables available for pre-order:
–kale, red curly, green curly, and lacinato: 1 pound for $4
–heirloom tomato mix: 1-1/2 pounds for $5
–multicolored cherry tomato mix (so delicious!): 1 pound for $4
–red saladette tomatoes (perfect for roasting and freezing for use later this winter): 1 pound for $4
–shallots: $10 a pound (1/2 pound minimum order)
–red and yellow storage onions: 1-1/2 pounds for $4.50
–yellow sweet onions: 1-1/2 pounds for $4.50
–leeks: 1-1/2 pounds for $4.50
–Music garlic (larger cloves, ~4-5 cloves per head): $15 per pound (1/2 pound minimum order)
–Anna Barbara’s Ohio Red garlic (smaller cloves, ~6-8 cloves per head): $15 per pound (1/2 pound minimum order)

Egg production slowing down a bit. We may have to limit quantities for each customer. And, to ensure egg orders please call early in the week.
Squash is ripening – we test all our squash in the kitchen for readiness. Although there are some that are ripening now, we will hold back offering them for sale one more week. Delicata, Acorn, Festival, Buttercup, Butternut, and Hooligan squash will all be available soon along with pie pumpkins, Ornamental squash and gourds. All produce is grown organically.
Our laying hens are outside daily: grazing, picking, scratching and taking dust baths. Their diet is supplemented with Certified Organic feed. Our broilers had a similar life but are now resting quietly in the freezer waiting for the opportunity to meat you.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRE-ORDER & DRIVE THROUGH
1. Look over the list. Each vendor has a unique deadline for when they need to receive your pre-order depending on their product. Send your pre-order to each vendor you want to order from, within their required deadlines.
2. Vendors will respond back by no later than Friday before market day with an order confirmation and an invoice that in most cases will allow you to pre-pay for your order. If a vendor is not set up to take payment online they will accept checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope on market day pickup.
3. Market Day. Important! Please see the attached map with arrows indicating which way you should plan to approach the market. We have 3 sections opened now and are refining the traffic pattern plan every week!
Please plan to line up and stay in your vehicle. We will also have signs to help point you in the right direction.
4. Please note! Using a sheet of paper at least 8.5 x 11, please list all of the vendors you have orders with in black marker (or something as visible), large enough for vendors to see it clearly. Please put your first & last name at the top of the list. Tape or hold up the list to the side window or front windshield where it will be most visible.
5. Have your trunk, or designated area of your car ready to receive your goods. As weather warms think about bringing a cooler for frozen, refrigerated items.
6. As you drive through, each vendor will bring your order to your vehicle and place it in the trunk or other designated space, and collect payment if you have not paid in advance. Again, please have checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope with your name and the name of the vendor on the outside of it.
If you have not already done so you may want to sign up for the newsletter
to be informed of the pre-order schedule for the next market.
If you have questions about info in this newsletter
please email them to email@example.com
We are not able to respond through Tiny Letter
