Blackbird Farms of Coopersville
This week at market, we are offering again our pre-selected, pre-packed bags of fresh vegetables. These bags are something akin to our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares. We assemble bags of our highest quality veggies based on whatever is fresh and in season for that week. In the bag, we aim to have some combination and quantity of at least six different vegetables with a combined value around $20. We also include a brief note from Farmer Greg and a farm-tested recipe. Each bag costs $15.
This week’s bag will likely contain some combination of the following: head lettuce, kale, cut greens (arugula, baby kale, or spinach), Brussels sprouts, leeks, personal-sized butternut squash, and garlic. Again, each bag will cost $15. (Please note that due to the variability of the weather this time of year, the contents of the bag might be a little more in flux than in other seasons. I will try to hew as close to this list as I can, but substitutions may occur.)
This week we also will have a variety of vegetables available for pre-order:
—head lettuce, red and green: $2.50 each
—kale (red curly, green curly, and lacinato): 1 pound for $4
—collard greens: 1 pound for $4
—arugula: 1/4 pound bag for $3
—baby kale: 1/4 pound bag for $3
—Napa cabbages: $4 each
—Brussels sprouts: $3 per stalk
—leeks: 1 pound for $3
—Music garlic: : $15 per pound (1/2 pound minimum order)
—fresh ginger: $20 per pound (1/4 pound minimum)
To order, please e-mail us at email@example.com by noon on Friday. We will then send you an invoice via Square. Payment can also be made via cash or check (payable to Blackbird Farms).
Thanks so much! We are looking forward to seeing friends old and new this Saturday!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRE-ORDER & DRIVE THROUGH
1. Look over the list. Each vendor has a unique deadline for when they need to receive your pre-order depending on their product. Send your pre-order to each vendor you want to order from, within their required deadlines.
2. Vendors will respond back by no later than Friday before market day with an order confirmation and an invoice that in most cases will allow you to pre-pay for your order. If a vendor is not set up to take payment online they will accept checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope on market day pickup.
3. Market Day. Important! Please see the attached map with arrows indicating which way you should plan to approach the market. We have 3 sections opened now and are refining the traffic pattern plan every week!
Please plan to line up and stay in your vehicle. We will also have signs to help point you in the right direction.
4. Please note! Using a sheet of paper at least 8.5 x 11, please list all of the vendors you have orders with in black marker (or something as visible), large enough for vendors to see it clearly. Please put your first & last name at the top of the list. Tape or hold up the list to the side window or front windshield where it will be most visible.
5. Have your trunk, or designated area of your car ready to receive your goods. A cooler is suggested for refrigerated & frozen items.
6. As you drive through, each vendor will bring your order to your vehicle and place it in the trunk or other designated space, and collect payment if you have not paid in advance. Again, please have checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope with your name and the name of the vendor on the outside of it.
If you have not already done so you may want to sign up for the newsletter
to be informed of the pre-order schedule for the next market.
