Blackbird Farms of Coopersville
This week at market, we are offering again our pre-selected, pre-packed bags of fresh vegetables. These bags are something akin to our CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares. We assemble bags of our highest quality veggies based on whatever is fresh and in season for that week. In the bag, we aim to have some combination and quantity of at least six different vegetables with a combined value around $20. We also include a brief note from Farmer Greg and a farm-tested recipe. Each bag costs $15.
This week’s bag will likely contain some combination of the following: head lettuce, kale, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, kohlrabi, butternut squash, shallots, and microgreens. Again, each bag will cost $15.
This week we also will have a variety of vegetables available for pre-order:
kale (red curly, green curly, and lacinato): 1 pound for $4
collard greens: 1 pound for $4
full-size cabbages (conical, savoyed, and Napa): $4 each
leeks: 1 pound for $3
red storage onions 1 pound for $3
shallots: $10 a pound (1/2 pound minimum order)
Music garlic (larger cloves, ~4-5 cloves per head): $15 per pound (1/2 pound minimum order)
Anna Barbara’s Ohio Red garlic (smaller cloves, ~6-8 cloves per head): $15 per pound (1/2 pound minimum order)
Looking forward, we are expecting to soon be harvesting spinach, arugula, and baby kale from our hoophouse, as well as fresh ginger.
To order, please e-mail us at hello.blackbirdfarms@gmail.com by noon on Friday. We will then send you an invoice via Square. Payment can also be made via cash or check (payable to Blackbird Farms).
Thanks so much! We are looking forward to seeing friends old and new this Saturday!
