Sweetwater Saturday June 13th One Hour 10am-11am Drive Through Pre-Order Farmers Market

Sweetwater Local Foods Market

DRIVE-THROUGH Pre-Order Market
Saturday, June 13th, 2020
Limited One Hour Market: 10:00am to 11:00am
Mercy Health Lakes Village
6401 Harvey St. at US31/Pontaluna Rd.
To our Sweetwater Community:
It seems like all of our efforts to crush the curve may be working here in Muskegon! As a reminder that the virus is still with us, the MCHD reports 696 positive cases & 39 deaths. We continue to be grateful for your cooperation in helping make this One Hour Pre-Order Drive Up Market work! Like all area farmers markets we are requiring all vendors to wear masks and practice social distancing.

If you have missed pre-order deadlines or forgot to order an item,  beginning this Friday we will send an additional Market Update newsletter with products that are still available for sale &  at Saturday’s market. This will help farmers who have extra veggies they didn’t have at Monday’s newsletter deadline and also vendors who have limited amounts of a few items. Watch for it this Friday!

Thanks to all who answered the survey! It would seem the majority of you want to continue with the convenience and safety of the drive through market. As the summer progresses we can always add more time, but for now we will keep the operation going as a one hour pre-order market.

Please note: There are vulnerable customers and vendors who need to remind everyone that staying in your car is helping to keep all of us safe!

Here are the steps to take to secure your place in line this coming Saturday, June 13th:

1. Look over the list below. Each vendor has a unique deadline for when they need to receive your pre-order depending on their product. Send your pre-order to each vendor you want to order from, within their required deadlines.
2. Vendors will respond back by no later than Friday before market day with an order confirmation and an invoice that in most cases will allow you to pre-pay for your order. If a vendor is not set up to take payment online they will accept checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope on market day pickup.
3. Market Day. Important! Please see the attached map with arrows indicating which way you should plan to approach the market. We have 3 sections opened now and are refining the traffic pattern plan every week!
Please plan to line up and stay in your vehicleWe will also have signs to help point you in the right direction.
4. Please note! Using a sheet of paper at least 8.5 x 11, please list all of the vendors you have orders with in black marker (or something as visible), large enough for vendors to see it clearly.  Please put your first & last name at the top of the list. Tape or hold up the list to the side window or front windshield where it will be most visible. It’s very helpful if you make two signs, one for each side, so that way vendors don’t have to cross back and forth in front of your vehicle to see your list.
5. Have your trunk, or designated area of your car ready to receive your goods. As weather warms (if it ever does) think about bringing a cooler for frozen, refrigerated items.
6. As you drive through, each vendor will bring your order to your vehicle and place it in the trunk or other designated space, and collect payment if you have not paid in advance. Again, please have checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope with your name and the name of the vendor on the outside of it.
