Sweetwater Saturday July 18th One Hour Drive Through Pre-Order Market

Sweetwater Local Foods Market

DRIVE-THROUGH Pre-Order Market
Saturday, July 18th, 2020
Limited One Hour Market: 10:00am to 11:00am
Mercy Health Lakes Village
6401 Harvey St. at US31/Pontaluna Rd.
To our Sweetwater Community:
As per Governor Whitmers Executive Order #2020-147 regarding masks to be worn in public spaces: Our Covid19 policy has always required that all vendors wear masks when meeting the public during the hour of our market. While many of our customers wear masks, not all do and we have not required it. We feel that because customers stay in their vehicles while picking up their farmers market orders that we are adhering to this new policy. We are seeking clarification on that now and will keep everyone informed if our policy needs to change. The governor’s order is here: https://content.govdelivery.com/attachments/MIEOG/2020/07/10/file_attachments/1492866/EO%202020-147%20Emerg%20order%20-%20Masks.pdf
And again, we SO APPRECIATE your willingness to help make this work for all of us!

Sweetwater will be open this Saturday for our One Hour Pre-Order Drive Through Market from 10am – 11am!
Here are the steps to take to secure your place in line this coming Saturday, July 18th:
1. Look over the list below. Each vendor has a unique deadline for when they need to receive your pre-order depending on their product. Send your pre-order to each vendor you want to order from, within their required deadlines.
2. Vendors will respond back by no later than Friday before market day with an order confirmation and an invoice that in most cases will allow you to pre-pay for your order. If a vendor is not set up to take payment online they will accept checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope on market day pickup.
3. Market Day. Important! Please see the attached map with arrows indicating which way you should plan to approach the market. We have 3 sections opened now and are refining the traffic pattern plan every week!
Please plan to line up and stay in your vehicleWe will also have signs to help point you in the right direction.
4. Please note! Using a sheet of paper at least 8.5 x 11, please list all of the vendors you have orders with in black marker (or something as visible), large enough for vendors to see it clearly.  Please put your first & last name at the top of the list. Tape or hold up the list to the side window or front windshield where it will be most visible. It’s very helpful if you make two signs, one for each side, so that way vendors don’t have to cross back and forth in front of your vehicle to see your list.
5. Have your trunk, or designated area of your car ready to receive your goods. As weather warms think about bringing a cooler for frozen, refrigerated items.
6. As you drive through, each vendor will bring your order to your vehicle and place it in the trunk or other designated space, and collect payment if you have not paid in advance. Again, please have checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope with your name and the name of the vendor on the outside of it.

Summer Blend Gardens of Coopersville
Deadline 8pm Thursday.
“I never met a bean I didn’t like.” – Lois Koch
We have green beans, but these and much of the other produce is limited. First come, first serve . . . Marty will make projections to respond back on all orders daily, but will give the final confirmation and pricing to everyone on Thursday night. We have to conserve the
lettuce for the SBG Salad Mixes for the next few weeks. Purslane is the new offering for July. This heart-healthy local wild plant is often pulled as a weed, but a weed is just a plant in the wrong place. Purslane has a whole host of basic nutrients and is abundant in Omega- 3s with antioxidant attributes. Scads of recipes are available on the internet.
We can accept orders by 8:00 pm on Thursday. Our email address is
sbgsweetwater@gmail.com . You will receive a confirmation email with total amount duein a timely manner. We accept credit card, cash (in a sealed envelope – your name on it,
please), or check (made out to Martin Alexander).
