Sweetwater Saturday July 11th One Hour Drive Through Pre-Order Market

Sweetwater Local Foods Market

DRIVE-THROUGH Pre-Order Market
Saturday, July 11th, 2020
Limited One Hour Market: 10:00am to 11:00am
Mercy Health Lakes Village
6401 Harvey St. at US31/Pontaluna Rd.
To our Sweetwater Community:
As of July 5th MDHHS reports a total of 2517 positive cases of Covid19 and 108 deaths for our 4 county area of Muskegon, Oceana, Ottawa & Allegan. Our thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones to this virus, and with those who struggle to come back from it. And a huge THANK YOU to everyone, vendors & customers alike, for continuing to do your part to stay safe & help Michigan crush the curve!

Sweetwater will be open this Saturday for our One Hour Pre-Order Drive Through Market from 10am – 11am!
Here are the steps to take to secure your place in line this coming Saturday, July 11th:

1. Look over the list below. Each vendor has a unique deadline for when they need to receive your pre-order depending on their product. Send your pre-order to each vendor you want to order from, within their required deadlines.
2. Vendors will respond back by no later than Friday before market day with an order confirmation and an invoice that in most cases will allow you to pre-pay for your order. If a vendor is not set up to take payment online they will accept checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope on market day pickup.
3. Market Day. Important! Please see the attached map with arrows indicating which way you should plan to approach the market. We have 3 sections opened now and are refining the traffic pattern plan every week!
Please plan to line up and stay in your vehicleWe will also have signs to help point you in the right direction.
4. Please note! Using a sheet of paper at least 8.5 x 11, please list all of the vendors you have orders with in black marker (or something as visible), large enough for vendors to see it clearly.  Please put your first & last name at the top of the list. Tape or hold up the list to the side window or front windshield where it will be most visible. It’s very helpful if you make two signs, one for each side, so that way vendors don’t have to cross back and forth in front of your vehicle to see your list.
5. Have your trunk, or designated area of your car ready to receive your goods. As weather warms think about bringing a cooler for frozen, refrigerated items.
6. As you drive through, each vendor will bring your order to your vehicle and place it in the trunk or other designated space, and collect payment if you have not paid in advance. Again, please have checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope with your name and the name of the vendor on the outside of it.

Vendors attending Saturday July 11th

Summer Blend Gardens of Coopersville
Deadline 8pm Thursday.
This is one of our favorite weeks in the gardens because the peas are hanging on, and the green beans are coming on. Other new items: Kohlrabi, Scallions, and Dill. In the world of kale, the new kid on the block is Thousandhead Kale which is a flat leaf variety. Of course it
is not as sweet as spinach, but it is much less bitter than other kale varieties during these hot days. The heat has made things tricky and for some of the items listed below we are only projecting availability based on a strong growing week. First come, first serve . . .
Marty will respond back on all orders daily, but will give the final confirmation and pricing on Thursday night to all. Thanks a bunch!
We can accept orders by 8:00 pm on Thursday. Our email address is now sbgsweetwater@gmail.com . You will receive a confirmation email with total amount due in a timely manner. We accept credit card, cash (in a sealed envelope – your name on it, please), or check (made out to Martin Alexander).
$3 a quart Green Beans
$3 pt. Sugar Snap & Snow Peas Mixed
(edible pods, good for salads, a stir fry, or just noshing)
$3 a bundle Kale bundles (Choose: Scarlet or Curley or Lacinato or Thousandhead)
$3 a bundle Scallions (small, but tender and sweet: 4 – 5 in a bundle)
$2 each Lettuce Heads: These will be smaller than previous weeks, but we want to get them on your table before they bolt up and lose their flavor: Red Romaine, Green Romaine, Freckles, Buttercrunch, & Bibb
$4 a bag Microgreens (Radish, Corn, Sunflower, Peas) and $3 smaller Microgreen Medley sampler pack
$5 big bag Summer Blend Salad Mix (with nasturtiums)
$4 big bag Greens Bag Mix (Chard, Kales, Collards)
$3 each Kohlrabi
$3 for 5 Garlic Scapes
$3 for sprigs Dill: Approx. one cup volume. For more ambitious recipes, please ask and we can do a price break.
