Sweetwater Saturday April 11th One Hour Drive Through Pre-Order Market

Sweetwater Local Foods Market
DRIVE-THROUGH Pre-Order Market
Saturday, April 11th, 2020
Limited One Hour Market: 10:00am to 11:00am
Mercy Health Lakes Village
6401 Harvey St. at US31/Pontaluna Rd.
To our Sweetwater Community:
Thank you all for your cooperation in helping make this One Hour Pre-Order Drive Up Market work! As the bad news gets more intense we are doubling down on our efforts to make this market experience the very safest it can possibly be for farmers, food producers and customers alike.
Here are the steps to take to secure your place in line this coming Saturday, April 11th.

1. Look over the list below. Each vendor has a unique deadline for when they need to receive your pre-order depending on their product. Send your pre-order to each vendor you want to order from, within their required deadlines.
2. Vendors will respond back by no later than Friday April 10th with an order confirmation and an invoice that in most cases will allow you to pre-pay for your order. If a vendor is not set up to take payment online they will accept checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope on market day pickup.
3. Market Day. Important! Please see the attached map with arrows indicating which way you should plan to approach the market.
Please plan to line up and stay in your vehicle. We have signs to help point you in the right direction.
4. Using a sheet of paper at least 8.5 x 11, please list all of the vendors you have orders with in black marker (or something as visible), large enough for vendors to see it clearly.  Please put your first & last name at the top of the list. Tape or hold up the list to the side window or front windshield where it will be most visible. Note: Feel free to make two signs, one for each side, that way vendors don’t have to cross back and forth.
5. Have your trunk, or designated area of your car ready to receive your goods.
6. As you drive through, each vendor will bring your order to your vehicle and place it in the trunk or other designated space, and collect payment if you have not paid in advance. Again, please have checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope with your name and the name of the vendor on the outside of it.

Pine Row Farm of Rothbury
We would appreciate orders by noon on Friday.
Howdy :-),
As of this moment, we are pleased to announce that 5 new calves have arrived safely here on the farm, with several girls looking close to calving. I’m sitting in the sun watching them, with honey bees scoping out the spring availability of flowers. One has rested beside me twice. The farm is very much the same as other spring seasons. From here it is easier to escape from the anxiety of the Coronavirus and world events of all sorts.
We anticipate that our processor will have our next batch of beef ready sometime in the coming week. My list reflects what I assume will be available for Saturday.
100% grass fed beef:
Ground beef
Ground round
Ground sirloin
Burger patties
Steaks: full assortment
Roasts: chuck, arm, rolled rump, ?
Short ribs
Soup bones
We continue to offer our spring special, save 25 cents a pound off hanging weight on halves and quarters. Processing is additional as always. Please see us for details. We have one half expected this week, or you can place an order for custom cutting instructions.
Bulk specials this week:
Roasts, 25# or more, $6/#
Ribeye, 25# or more, $12/#
Orders will be filled in the order received. We are continuing to refine our system with the preorder only market. We would appreciate orders by noon on Friday. We will accommodate any late orders after that if possible. Friday afternoon we will get everyone their total. If you don’t hear from me by 5pm, please contact me.
We have chicken, duck, and goose eggs for sale.
Chicken eggs $5/dozen
Duck Eggs $8.00/dozen
Goose Eggs $2. Ea, 2/$3, or $18 per dozen.
Our poultry is free range and has certified organic feed available from neighboring Heritage Organics, where our son Aaron works and mixes the feed, along with other responsibilities.
If you are coloring eggs, please specify that. We have white and blue duck eggs. Goose eggs are white and would color and decorate well. Our chicken eggs are all brown.
We have the following honey:
plastic squeeze bottle:
12 oz bear $6
1# raw $8
2# $12
Glass canning jars:
Pint raw $10
Quart raw $16
We will be bringing maple syrup, old fashioned boiled not reverse osmosis, in canning jars.
Pints $10
Quarts $16
Thank you for your continuing grace and patience as we navigate this style of marketing. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you have. And thank you for continuing to support local, conscientious agriculture during this current situation. We wish you all a safe, healthy week,
Sarah (writing), and Bill
