Sweetwater Monday Preorder List for Saturday Dec 18th Farmers Market

Monday Preorder News!

It’s official: our December 18 market newsletter is being entered in the Guiness Book of Records for World’s Longest Newsletter! The reason for the length is 1. It’s the last market before Christmas and 2. We are closed the next two Saturday’s, reopening on January 8th.

I think you’ll be truly gobsmacked at the quality & variety of locally produced foods & goods in this list and so I’ll stop right here and let you get to it! Please remember that preorders are becoming a necessity as the weather turns colder.

Thank you to all of our wonderful, loyal, committed Sweetwater Community – & Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to All!

The Pasturage LLC of Montague
Bone-in lamb shoulder is perfect for curry. Beat the cold, both the weather and your health, with an infusion of spice and stock. The bone in the shoulder creates a rich sauce with the benefits of certified grass-fed bone broth. This is how I make it: defrost the shoulder. Then braise the meat in a pot just big enough to hold it and just covered with water. Put in the spices that are whole at this time like cinnamon sticks, peppercorns, cloves, cumin seeds, coriander, dried hot peppers or whatever your curry recipe calls for. Braise 2 hrs, but not more. Strain. Put the stock back in the pot, flavor with additional spices like turmeric, ginger, onion, garlic, etc and let reduce to desired consistency. Let meat cool, take off bone. Add to reduced sauce. Serve with basmati rice and yogurt.  Or throw it all in your instant pot and set to pressure cook for 30 minutes. The smell alone clears your sinuses!
