Blackbird Farms of Coopersville
Deadline: Noon Friday.
Still available: This week at market, we are offering again our pre-selected, pre-packed bags of fresh vegetables. Each bag costs $15.
This week’s bag will likely contain some combination of the following: head lettuce, cut greens (probably spinach but possibly baby kale), mini-cabbage, Brussels sprouts, pie pumpkin, garlic, and celeriac (don’t worry if this vegetable is unfamiliar to you, I will provide storage and preparation suggestions).
This week we also will have a few vegetables available for pre-order:
–fresh ginger: $20 per pound (1/4 pound minimum)
–Music garlic: : $15 per pound (1/2 pound minimum order)
–head lettuce, red and green: $2.50 each
–arugula: 1/4 pound bag for $3
–Brussels sprouts: $3 per stalk
We will also have very limited quantities of seed garlic, both Music and Anna Barbara’s Ohio Red, for $15 per pound.
To order, please e-mail us at hello.blackbirdfarms@gmail.com by noon on Friday. We will then send you an invoice via Square. Payment can also be made via cash or check (payable to Blackbird Farms).

The recent unseasonable cold and wind has been hard on livestock. We’re hoping to check bees and winterize hives with plugs and mouse guards in the warm up predicted this week.

We raised pigs with certified organic feed from Heritage Organics, and are selling them only by halves. A half in the freezer is typically 60-70# of pork. INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRE-ORDER & DRIVE THROUGH
1. Look over the list. Each vendor has a unique deadline for when they need to receive your pre-order depending on their product. Send your pre-order to each vendor you want to order from, within their required deadlines.
2. Vendors will respond back by no later than Friday before market day with an order confirmation and an invoice that in most cases will allow you to pre-pay for your order. If a vendor is not set up to take payment online they will accept checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope on market day pickup.
3. Market Day. Important! Please see the attached map with arrows indicating which way you should plan to approach the market. We have 3 sections opened now and are refining the traffic pattern plan every week!
Please plan to line up and stay in your vehicleWe will also have signs to help point you in the right direction.
4. Please note! Using a sheet of paper at least 8.5 x 11, please list all of the vendors you have orders with in black marker (or something as visible), large enough for vendors to see it clearly.  Please put your first & last name at the top of the list. Tape or hold up the list to the side window or front windshield where it will be most visible.
5. Have your trunk, or designated area of your car ready to receive your goods. A cooler is suggested for refrigerated & frozen items.
6. As you drive through, each vendor will bring your order to your vehicle and place it in the trunk or other designated space, and collect payment if you have not paid in advance. Again, please have checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope with your name and the name of the vendor on the outside of it.
