New Vendor!
Shady Side Farm of Holland
Mike and Lona Bronkema of Shady Side Farm have been farming since 1992 and have recently transitioned to organic in parts of their operation. The farm is home to 150 or so sheep and some chickens. The Bronkemas (with the help of their parents and children) raise hay and row crops, including edible beans, corn and small grains. In their spare time, Mike makes wool socks and Lona weaves rag rugs.
Mike will be at the market this Saturday for the first time. He’ll have along pinto beans, food grade soybeans, red wheat, corn and squash. He’ll also bring along some of the farm’s wool in the form of roving for spinning. He also hopes to bring along some of his socks and Lona’s rugs.
