We’re grateful that the past week’s unseasonable heat has broken and are looking forward to the coming cooler days. It’s still too dry, though, with Southwestern Michigan now officially in the first stage of drought and right on the cusp of the second. Fortunately, we have irrigation and have been using it non-stop for a couple of weeks now. Nevertheless, the crops in the fields are doing well, with those of summer continuing to wind down while those for fall ramping up. It should be a delicious season.
This week we likely will be bringing:
Head lettuce
Chard
Mini-cabbage
Napa cabbage
Broccoli
Kohlrabi
Sweet peppers
Hot peppers
Eggplant
Red tomatoes
Heirloom tomatoes
Beans
Scallions
Potatoes
Red and yellow onions
Shallots
Garlic
We will have bulk quantities of paste tomatoes available, $40 for 25 pounds (about a half bushel)
We will also have eggs from our flock of pastured hens.
Looking forward to seeing friends old and new this Saturday!
