To our Sweetwater Community:
Thank you all for your cooperation in helping make this One Hour Pre-Order Drive Up Market work! If you are new to the market please read the directions below and see the map. Here are the steps to take to secure your place in line this coming Saturday, May 2nd:

1. Look over the list below. Each vendor has a unique deadline for when they need to receive your pre-order depending on their product. Send your pre-order to each vendor you want to order from, within their required deadlines.
2. Vendors will respond back by no later than Friday before market day with an order confirmation and an invoice that in most cases will allow you to pre-pay for your order. If a vendor is not set up to take payment online they will accept checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope on market day pickup.
3. Market Day. Important! Please see the attached map with arrows indicating which way you should plan to approach the market.
Please plan to line up and stay in your vehicleWe will also have signs to help point you in the right direction.
4. Please note! Using a sheet of paper at least 8.5 x 11, please list all of the vendors you have orders with in black marker (or something as visible), large enough for vendors to see it clearly.  Please put your first & last name at the top of the list. Tape or hold up the list to the side window or front windshield where it will be most visible. It’s very helpful it you make two signs, one for each side, so that way vendors don’t have to cross back and forth in front of your vehicle to see your list.
5. Have your trunk, or designated area of your car ready to receive your goods. As weather warms (if it ever does) think about bringing a cooler for frozen, refrigerated items.
6. As you drive through, each vendor will bring your order to your vehicle and place it in the trunk or other designated space, and collect payment if you have not paid in advance. Again, please have checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope with your name and the name of the vendor on the outside of it.

Sweetwater Saturday April 18th One Hour Drive Through Pre-Order Farmers Market

Sweetwater Local Foods Market
DRIVE-THROUGH Pre-Order Market
Saturday, April 18th, 2020
Limited One Hour Market: 10:00am to 11:00am
Mercy Health Lakes Village
6401 Harvey St. at US31/Pontaluna Rd.
To our Sweetwater Community:
Thank you all for your cooperation in helping make this One Hour Pre-Order Drive Up Market work!
We were amazed at the turnout for the last market, and are working on making the traffic flow as smoothly as possible, all while adhering to social distance mandates. Thanks to everyone who stopped out and stayed patient. For this Saturday we will widen the space of the market and have two lanes for all vendors. Here are the steps to take to secure your place in line this coming Saturday, April 18th:

1. Look over the list below. Each vendor has a unique deadline for when they need to receive your pre-order depending on their product. Send your pre-order to each vendor you want to order from, within their required deadlines.
2. Vendors will respond back by no later than Friday April 10th with an order confirmation and an invoice that in most cases will allow you to pre-pay for your order.
4. Note: Feel free to make two signs, one for each side, that way vendors don’t have to cross back and forth.
5. Have your trunk, or designated area of your car ready to receive your goods.
6. As you drive through, each vendor will bring your order to your vehicle and place it in the trunk or other designated space, and collect payment if you have not paid in advance. Again, please have checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope with your name and the name of the vendor on the outside of it.

What is vermicompost?
Wormies is a local Worm Farm producing the liveliest, freshest vermicompost for your soil. Vermicompost (worm manure) are used as a powerful soil amendment and an all-natural fertilizer, containing rich microbiological colonies that help fight soil-borne plant diseases and repel insects.
Worm castings are water-soluble, allowing plants to quickly and easily absorb essential nutrients and trace minerals. When the waste nutrients pass through the worm’s digestive tract, it forms a coating around it which allows for the nutrients to “time release” into the soil. Nutrients are readily available to plant material over a greater length of time and will not burn even the most delicate plants. A small amount of goes a long way!

Sweetwater Saturday April 11th One Hour Drive Through Pre-Order Market

Sweetwater Local Foods Market
DRIVE-THROUGH Pre-Order Market
Saturday, April 11th, 2020
Limited One Hour Market: 10:00am to 11:00am
Mercy Health Lakes Village
6401 Harvey St. at US31/Pontaluna Rd.
To our Sweetwater Community:
Thank you all for your cooperation in helping make this One Hour Pre-Order Drive Up Market work! As the bad news gets more intense we are doubling down on our efforts to make this market experience the very safest it can possibly be for farmers, food producers and customers alike.
Here are the steps to take to secure your place in line this coming Saturday, April 11th.

If a vendor is not set up to take payment online they will accept checks (preferred) or cash in a sealed envelope on market day pickup.
3. Market Day. Important! Please see the attached map with arrows indicating which way you should plan to approach the market.
Please plan to line up and stay in your vehicle. We have signs to help point you in the right direction.

Pine Row Farm of Rothbury
We would appreciate orders by noon on Friday.
Howdy :-),
As of this moment, we are pleased to announce that 5 new calves have arrived safely here on the farm, with several girls looking close to calving. I’m sitting in the sun watching them, with honey bees scoping out the spring availability of flowers. One has rested beside me twice. The farm is very much the same as other spring seasons. From here it is easier to escape from the anxiety of the Coronavirus and world events of all sorts.
We anticipate that our processor will have our next batch of beef ready sometime in the coming week. My list reflects what I assume will be available for Saturday.
100% grass fed beef:
Ground beef
Ground round
Ground sirloin
Burger patties
Steaks: full assortment
Roasts: chuck, arm, rolled rump, ?
Short ribs
Shank

Bulk specials this week:
Roasts, 25# or more, $6/#
Ribeye, 25# or more, $12/#
Orders will be filled in the order received. We are continuing to refine our system with the preorder only market. We would appreciate orders by noon on Friday. We will accommodate any late orders after that if possible. Friday afternoon we will get everyone their total. If you don’t hear from me by 5pm, please contact me.
WE HAVE EGGS!!

Pine Row Farm of Rothbury
Hello everyone,
Please place your orders by Thursday. We will do our best to accommodate last minute orders through Friday by 9pm
We are investigating a payment in advance method. Otherwise we accept cash or check in envelopes at the market.
100% grass fed beef:
Ground sirloin
Burger patties
Roasts
Steaks
Liver
Shank
Brisket
Short ribs
I’m listing what we’ll have if we are unable to get beef back from the processor before Friday. Anyone who’s interested in stocking up on steaks, roasts, shank, or burger patties can contact us for the price of 25# or more of a single item. We’ll do a bulk order discount on those as our sale this week.
We’re still running our hanging weight special in spite of the current chaos. Save 25 cents a pound off regular price. Processing fees are additional. Contact us for details.
Honey:
Quart raw:$16
Pint raw:$10
1# raw: $8
2#:$12
12 oz “bear”:$6
Maple syrup, old fashioned boiled not reverse osmosis:
Quart:$16
Pint:$10
We will have a few dozen chicken eggs. We have duck eggs and geese have begun laying. Our poultry is free range and has certified organic feed available. Duck eggs boil exactly like a chicken egg and make baked goods rise better. They have a higher protein content. They curdle if you scramble them with milk. Please let us know if you have other questions about using duck and goose eggs. Spring is peak egg season!
We wish everyone a calm and healthy week,
Bill and Sarah

To our Sweetwater Community:
We are in difficult times now, for sure. Tomorrow we will have our regular market. We are all taking all precautions to limit everyone’s unnecessary exposure. All vendors will have food grade gloves and sanitary cleaner to use. There will be no samples. Foods that need to be weighed will be handled by the vendor. Coffee by the cup will be served by the vendor.
Preorders would be very beneficial right now. Each vendor has a contact email listed in the newsletter below.
If any of our customers would like to be able to drive up and pick up a food order tomorrow please email either the individual vendor or the market at sweetwaterlocalfoods@gmail.com
We will do everything we can to accommodate you, possibly even making a delivery if that can be arranged.

Next week, at this point, we will be doing a PREORDER ONLY market, out in the parking lot, from 9:00am to 11:00am. You will receive a newsletter with all the foods available on Sunday night. When possible, orders can be paid ahead to individual vendors through Square.
We are all in this together. We believe that eating locally is still the safest bet for building a healthy immune system. We have many good beneficial products in that regard.
And please, if you don’t feel good stay home!
